The Algarve is where you’ll find this destination. The distinction was made by Tripadvisor in the most recent Traveler’s Choice Awards.

Over the last year, beaches all over the world have received comments and ratings on the Tripadvisor platform. The Traveller’s Choice Awards reveal the places with the best scores and Portugal is home to the best beach in the world, according to these awards.

Praia da Falésia, in Albufeira, in the Algarve, is the only national beach on this list, which has 25 venues in all. On the platform, it has more than six thousand reviews, most of them with an ‘excellent’ rating.

“It’s known for its cliffs, golden sand and sparkling blue water,” the platform begins. “Sunbathe on the huge coastline, swim or play water sports in the waves, hike the picturesque clifftop trail and check out the incredible views,” they continue.

The top three of these awards is rounded off by Spiaggia dei Conigli, in Italy, and Praia da Conha, in Spain.
