a list of best and worst food in portugal

According to Taste Atlas, a website dedicated to food and dishes around the world, Portugal’s top food is – the Pastel de Nata.

In Portugal, the kitchen is the scene of great emotions. After all, not all traditional dishes are to everyone’s taste and there are some that challenge even the bravest of palates. A gastronomy platform has made a ranking of the best and worst Portuguese foods, according to public evaluations.

The most recent ranking of the best and worst Portuguese dishes was published this week by the well-known gastronomy website Taste Atlas. The results promise to cause some reactions among fans of Portuguese cuisine.

As expected, the pastel de nata is in first place among the best dishes, with a score of 4.6. The famous Lisbon delicacy is tied with the bulhão pato clams, also with 4.6, which is in second place.

The list of the best Portuguese foods includes dishes such as Madeira kebabs, Alentejo-style pork and the famous Madeira bread, bolo do caco.

However, not all the dishes received the same acclaim. The title of “worst dish” goes to Maranho, from Sertã, with a score of just 2.8. Other traditional dishes also appeared on the “hard to please” side, such as bacalhau com todos and chestnut soup, both with 3.0.

And of course, the traditional Bolo Rei was among the most controversial, with a place in the “worst” with 3.0. The Portuguese Christmas sweet seems to be a classic… that doesn’t always please everyone.
