The iconic Christmas Tram returns to the streets of Porto. The rides start on December 1st at 4pm and promise to spread Christmas magic throughout the city.

This year, the decorations were made by users of the Albergues do Porto institution and two of the city’s urban artists. The Christmas streetcar will run until January 6th.

The route will run on line 1 (Infante – Passeio Alegre) on Sundays and Mondays, with the first trip starting at 9am. The last journey takes place at 20:10. On the other days of the week, from Tuesday to Saturday, it will run on line 18 (Carmo – Passeio Alegre). The first trip starts at Clérigos at 9.45 and the last at 19.30.

Tickets can be bought directly from the driver before boarding. Kids pay €3.5 for the trip and adults €6, but two trips on the same day cost €8. If you want to buy tickets for two in advance, you’ll pay €6 for children and €12 for adults. The Andante pass is valid for these trips.

This year the vehicle was painted by users of the Albergues do Porto institution and by two of the city’s urban artists, Oaktree and Heitor Corrêa. The rest of the work done by everyone involved can also be seen in an exhibition that will be inaugurated on December 5, at 5:30 p.m., at Alberg’ART.
