The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to have bought a vacation home in Portugal. Unlike in California, Meghan and Harry do not have to do without aristocratic company there.
The Californian Duke and Duchess of Sussex are moving back to Europe. According to reports in the British and American media, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have bought a vacation home in Portugal after having to give up their Frogmore Cottage estate in Windsor last year.
The royals, who have lived in Montecito near Los Angeles with their children Archie and Lilibet since leaving the British royal family in 2020, had moved into the country estate after their wedding in 2018. However, they returned the keys in the summer of 2023 at the request of King Charles III.
Even more royals in Portugal
Unlike in California, the Duke and Duchess do not have to do without aristocratic company in Portugal. Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie, a daughter of Prince Andrew, who fell into disrepute because of his friendship with the late New York sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, spends several months each year on the Iberian Peninsula with her husband Jack Brooksbank.
Prince Harry had previously traveled to Europe several times, albeit unaccompanied. Harry has already been to the UK six times this year, but always traveled to London without his wife Meghan and without his children Archie and Lilibeth.
