Two men robbed this Monday at dawn, at gunpoint, a Burger King restaurant, in Queluz, municipality of Sintra, having managed to subtract the money stored in the cash register. The space manager was reportedly assaulted and received hospital treatment.
The case happened at 2.30 am, when the manager and two other employees were taking inventory of the restaurant, after it had closed to the public, confirmed, to JN, a source from the Lisbon metropolitan command of PSP.
After invading the space, the pair of robbers will have forced, using a firearm, the employees to deliver all the money from the cash register. The thieves also tried to get the workers to open the Safe of the establishment, but gave up when they realized that they did not have the key. Then they left the establishment.
During the robbery, the men also allegedly assaulted the restaurant manager, the same source added.
As it is a crime with a firearm, the investigation has since been transferred from the PSP, which initially took charge of the incident, to the Judicial Police.
