People in a street with bars at night

In addition to this limitation, other measures were discussed, such as greater vigilance with regard to noise emitted by stereos in commercial establishments, both on terraces and indoors.

The Lisbon City Council is preparing legislation to ban the consumption of alcoholic beverages in the street after 11pm, reports Público.

The Lisbon council’s decision has to do with the activity of commercial spaces, such as the opening hours of cafés, bars and stores. In addition to this limitation, other measures were discussed, such as greater vigilance in relation to the noise emitted by stereos in commercial establishments, both on the terraces and inside.

Along with the other measures, a ban on the placement of strobe lights on the public highway will also be studied, as well as a review of the opening hours regulations.
