It’s our daily bread these days! Calls from unknown numbers, coming from the most varied services, such as parcel couriers, or from people who don’t always mean well.
That’s exactly why many smartphone manufacturers are betting on features capable of identifying whether the call you’re receiving belongs to a scam or not. Unfortunately, they aren’t always able to pinpoint who the number belongs to, but it does help to avoid sometimes dangerous situations.
That said, there are ways to find out who “owns” that number. Do you want to know which ones?
Simple (and free) ways to find out who owns a phone number
So you’ve received an unknown call and have no idea who it is? Fortunately, these days it’s easy to find out who’s trying to reach you without having to answer the call. It’s all down to free services and/or apps, which in essence are just giant databases full of phone numbers with various associated information, the most important of which is obviously the name of the entity, which can be an individual or a company.

This type of service is nothing new, as it has been around for several years. However, in recent years we have seen these databases exploited by companies focused on “offering” us this type of information. So, in our opinion, stay away from any services that require you to install an app, such as Sync.me, Tellows, CallApp or TrueCaller.
